PagoPA is an ecosystem of rules, standards and tools defined by the Digital Italy Agency and accepted by the Public Administration, Banks, Posts and other payment institutions (Payment Service Providers – PSPs) participating in the initiative.
PagoPA guarantees to individuals and businesses:
- security and reliability in payments;
- simplicity and flexibility in the choice of payment methods;
- transparency in commission costs.
PagoPA guarantees public administrations:
- certainty and automation in the collection of collections;
- cost reduction and standardization of internal processes;
- simplification and digitization of services.
PagoPA was implemented by AgID in implementation of Article 5 of the Digital Administration Code and Decree Law 179/2012.
AgID has prepared the Guidelines that define rules and methods for making electronic payments and has also created the Nodo dei Pagamenti-SPC technological infrastructure, which ensures interoperability among the actors involved in the system.
In the first instance, the Municipality of Fabbriche di Vergemoli adopted the payment system only on some services and then gradually extended it to other payments: currently it is possible to pay for services related to: Secretarial fees, Imu, Waste.
