The citizens' representative committee, is a body for citizen consultation and active participation in the life of their community. To this end, the committee performs propositional, consultative and liaison functions with the citizenry.
The committee is appointed by the City Council from among. those who meet the requirements for election as city councilor and are residents of the municipality of Fabbriche di Vergemoli at the time of appointment.
The Committee consists of 10 members. Participation in the work of the Committee is free of charge.
- The Committee has propositional functions. In this capacity, it submits to the Municipal Administration schemes or proposals for measures relating to all matters within the competence of the municipality, including the reporting of problems affecting the administered community and proposals for their resolution. The mayor, depending on their respective competencies, transmits to the City Council or the City Council the proposals received by the Committee, providing in advance to acquire the opinion of the heads of departments according to law. The Council and the Junta shall express their opinion on the proposals received by the Committee, giving adequate reasons for their non-acceptance.
- The Committee expresses an advisory opinion, neither compulsory nor binding, on all matters submitted by the Municipal Administration through the Mayor;
- The Committee carries out dissemination activities of all news useful to the community such as measures taken by the municipal administration .
- The Committee carries out activities of collecting reports of local problems expressed by citizens, providing for forwarding them, possibly accompanied by proposals for solutions, to the Mayor for subsequent continuation.
